UTRECHT | Tibet Film Days 2026 | ICT Europe & BFFE

This year, we are screening a special homegrown film: My Religion Is Kindness: The Dalai Lama in the Netherlands.

On Sunday, September 27, Tibet Film Days 2026 will present a special film screening at Pathé Rembrandt Utrecht, organized by ICT Europe in collaboration with the Buddhist Film Festival Europe (BFFE). The film will also be shown in Amsterdam, The Hague, Groningen, and Nijmegen.

At the heart of the event is the impressive documentary My Religion is Kindness: Dalai Lama—a special 94-minute feature version with English subtitles, directed by Babeth Mondini VanLoo. The film chronicles more than fifty years of visits to the Netherlands by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Through unique archival footage, personal encounters, and remarkable stories, the documentary reveals how his message of compassion, inner peace, and universal responsibility has touched generations of people.

Actor and ICT Chairman Richard Gere also shares his perspective on the enduring influence of the Dalai Lama and his commitment to Tibet.

In a world facing war, polarization, and uncertainty, the Dalai Lama’s message is more relevant than ever. The documentary invites reflection on how inner peace, compassion for others, and mutual responsibility can contribute to lasting change and connection.

The film will be followed by an in-depth panel discussion. There will also be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions.

Tibet Film Days 2026 is a joint initiative of ICT Europe and the BFFE.
