66 years ago, on 10 March 1959, Tibetans rose up around the Potala Palace in Lhasa to protect their leader the Dalai Lama, who they believed was in danger. As he turns 90 this year, this anniversary will be an important occasion to honor his legacy and Tibet’s ongoing struggle for freedom.
In addition to the 6th European Solidarity Rally for Tibet taking place in the Hague, Tibetans in Belgium and their supporters will as usual hold a protest in Brussels to commemorate the anniversary.
JOIN US on Monday 10 March in Brussels at Merode (near the exit of Parc du Cinquantenaire) at 11h or at the Chinese Embassy (443-445 Avenue de Tervuren) at 13h to show your support for the Tibetan struggle for human rights and justice!
The protest is organised jointly by the Tibetan Community in Belgium, Lungta Belgium, and the International Campaign for Tibet.
