In de uitverkochte filmzaal ging ICT\u2019s Advocacy, Communication directeur Christa Meindersma in gesprek met de filmmakers Ritu Sarin, Tenzing Sonam en Tenzin Phuntsog, over hun werk waarbij zij met hun films en artistieke werk reflecteren op vraagstukken van verbanning, identiteit, cultuur en nationalisme waarmee het Tibetaanse volk geconfronteerd wordt.<\/p>\n<p>Filmmakers Ritu Sarin (India) en Tenzin Sonam (Tibet) spraken zich uit over de moeilijkheden voor filmmakers in de huidige tijd waarin China als economische macht haar invloed uitoefent en de mogelijkheden om toegelaten te worden op festivals bemoeilijkt. Desalniettemin zijn hun talrijke documentaires, fictiefilms en video-installaties vertoond op internationale filmfestivals, tentoonstellingen en bij de Publieke Omroep.<\/p>\n<p>Gedurende het BFFE weekend werd ook hun filminstallatie getoond; \u2018Shadow Circus\u2019 wat de periode van de CIA in Tibet weergaf met verzamelde audiovisuele materiaal, foto\u2019s, documenten, brieven, CIA-surveillancekaarten van Tibet en fragmenten van interviews met voormalige CIA-agenten en Tibetaanse verzetstrijders. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bffe.eu\/special-event-story-of-tibet\/?lang=nl\">The Sweet Requiem<\/a>, hun awardwinnende film werd tijdens het event vertoond, gevolgd door een Q&amp;A met het publiek.<\/p>\n<p>Tenzin Phuntsog, directeur en oprichter van \u2018Tibetan Film Archive\u2019 sprak over zijn werk voor het behoud van zeldzame archieffilms van Tibet wat een schat voor de toekomst zal zijn en helpt Tibetanen zich te verbinden met hun roots.\u00a0 Zijn onlangs uitgebrachte film \u2018Rituals of Resistance\u2019 wat direct na het Story of Tibet event \u00a0werd getoond, maakte diepe indruk op het publiek waarin het verhaal wordt verteld van drie generaties Tibetanen die elk hun eigen manier vinden om te gaan met hun situatie als Tibetaanse vluchteling.<\/p>\n<p>Tenslotte werd het evenement afgesloten door de krachtige woorden van ICT\u2019s directeur Tsering Jampa waarin ze het BFFE en het publiek bedankte voor het bieden van een platform om te spreken over de situatie van het Tibetaanse volk wat gaat over waarheid, gerechtigheid en menselijkheid, wat ons allemaal aangaat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tijdens de 14e editie van het Boeddhistsich Film Festival (BFFE) van 27-29 september in het Eye Filmmusuem in Amsterdam, organiseerde ICT ism het BFFE een speciaal event: \u2018Story of Tibet\u2019 op zondag 29 september.
