EU: Put Human Rights on the ASEM agenda!
On the occasion of the 12th ASEM (Asia-Europe) Summit on 18 and 19 October, the Uyghur, Tibetan and Southern Mongolian communities will hold a demonstration in Brussels (on 18 from 11h-13h at Schuman Roundabout) calling on EU leaders to use this meeting to voice concerns about the deteriorating human rights situation in China, in particular for ethnic and religious groups.

New European Parliament Report calls on China to review its policies in Tibet, asks EU to raise the issue of access
At its plenary session in Strasbourg on 12 September, the European Parliament adopted a new report on EU-China relations that calls on the EU to urge China to review its policies in Tibet and to raise the issue of access with Beijing.
EU must use upcoming Human Rights Dialogue and Summit with China to demand concrete improvements in Tibet
On the eve of the 36th EU-China Human Rights Dialogue and the 20th EU-China Summit, both scheduled to take place in July 2018, the International Campaign for Tibet calls on the European Union to use these meetings to press China for concrete improvements in the human rights situation in Tibet.
ICT President Matteo Mecacci raises Tibet with UN and EU officials in Geneva and Brussels
On June 26, ICT President Matteo Mecacci attended the meeting between the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Al Hussein and ICT Chairman of the Board, Richard Gere, in Geneva, where the human rights situation inside Tibet was discussed. Following that, Matteo Mecacci was in Brussels on June 27 and 28 to meet with representatives from different national and European Institutions.
