In cooperation with its partner Czechs Support Tibet, the International Campaign for Tibet is organising a panel discussion entitled ‘A Path Forward to Peace and Stability in Asia and the World: The Vision of the Dalai Lama,’ on Wednesday 29th November 2023 in Prague, Czech Republic.
This event will explore the challenges and opportunities in addressing religious freedom in Tibet, with a particular focus on the potential of Tibetan Buddhism in contributing to peace and stability in a region increasingly marked by tensions.
Guest Speakers will include the Honorable Uzra Zeya, U.S. Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights and Special coordinator for Tibetan issues; the Honorable Bea Ten Tusscher, Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion and Belief of the Kingdom of the Netherlands; and Mr. Telo Tulku Rinpoche, Honorary Representative of the Dalai Lama to Mongolia, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The discussion will be followed by an interactive discussion with European officials and policy-makers, experts, journalists and members of civil and religious organisations that will seek to lay out recommendations to the international community on how to protect Freedom of religion in Tibet and use Tibetan Buddhism in Asia as a way to promote peace and stability.
(The event will be livestream on the event’s webpage and a video-recording will be available afterwards).
